Reckon Point has developed a suite of services based on LIDAR and artificial intelligence for object detection and classification. Reckon Point provides precise indoor survey; mapping services are accurate to 2 cm. This enables the development of 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.

LiDAR Data Collection

The MIGSU, our proprietary Mobile Indoor Geolocation Survey Unit, uses a combination of cutting edge technology to capture and process different data sets from its surrounding environment. Using an automated platform ensures accuracy and speed of up to 5,000 square feet per hour.

The MIGSU can capture LiDAR, magnetic, WiFi, and 360° image data while scanning indoors to provide quality geo-tagged data. Other sensors can also be integrated such as temperature, light, sound, humidity, etc..

As it relates in the the Scan-to-BIM process, MIGSU uses the latest 3D LiDAR technology in conjunction with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to accurately gather spatial data with millimeter precision using indoor survey scanning. Additionally, by using the MIGSU to make detail field measurements, human error can be eliminated.

Reckon Point delivers dense point clouds that achieve +/- 2cm dimensional accuracy by using an advanced Simultaneous Localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm.

Most tripod scanning systems require separate point clouds to be registered to create the final building point cloud. During this process, errors can be introduced accidentally by human intervention. With the proprietary SLAM algorithm that Reckon Point uses, point cloud registration is eliminated saving time and cost.

Our SLAM technology can also generate trajectory files to correlate with other sensor data for applications such as Green and LEED building verification.

2D CAD Modeling

Developing a CAD model from a point cloud takes a special skill set that Reckon Point and our partners have mastered. Large datasets can require intensive processing and sometimes specialized software / hardware, which Reckon Point has invested heavily to automate and speed up processing.

Architects, engineers, and designers need accurate CAD models to plan, renovate, and retrofit existing buildings and spaces.

Our staffs experience will bring value to your business to help speed up data processing and modeling. We create standard 2D CAD drawings from point clouds which can be exported as common CAD file formats to integrate into your process flow.

BIM & VR Development

Once we create the 3D BIM, we can render it with colors and texture to make it a life-like model that can be shown and demonstrated to clients in a 3D virtual environment. Our VR models can be shared via the web or embedded into your website.

In addition to 2D CAD, Reckon Point can create a fully immersive 3D model in Autodesk Revit or Autocad to Building Information Model (BIM) standards.
